At the end of her and her husband’s 11-day royal tour of Australia and Samoa, Camilla broke down in tears, and according to certain sources, she had a very sad explanation.
Senior Royal Family members are expected to keep their emotions in check when in public, and this is not simply custom; it is essentially protocol. Like King Charles, Princess Anne, and the late Queen Elizabeth, Camilla, a member of the older royal family, is typically just as reserved.
However, during a farewell ceremony in the town of Siumu, Samoa, the 77-year-old couldn’t contain her tears when Charles, who has been fighting cancer all year, gave a heartfelt speech after receiving the honorary title, which translates to “paramount chief.”
The Queen Consort is accepting the possibility that her husband’s brief reign as king may be coming to an end, which is why Camilla had an unusual outburst of emotion, according to RadarOnline.
We will now go on record to say that there has been no official confirmation that Charles’s cancer battle has gotten worse, nor any indication that the 76-year-old, who waited longer than any other heir apparent in British history to take the throne, is starting to face significant challenges.
The important details, however, are that Charles has been fighting an unidentified type of cancer since February and that there have been few or no updates on the effectiveness of his therapies.
Why was Camilla crying?
Naturally, speculation has filled in the gaps left by the lack of specific facts, and there are now some people who believe that Camilla’s tears at the conclusion of her and Charles’ most recent journey had some significant meaning.
“I shall always remain devoted to this part of the world and hope that I survive long enough to come back again and see you,” Charles said in the aforementioned speech in Samoa. “We shall take away with us, I promise you, very special memories of our time here.”
Despite Camilla’s best efforts to conceal them with a fan, it was difficult for onlookers to ignore the tears that were flowing down her cheeks.
As per RadarOnline, one royal insider said: “Deep in her heart, she must fear Charles is dying and she’ll be left to face the remainder of her life alone.”
“How Camilla will endure royal life without Charles is anyone’s guess. All this must have been going through her mind during his speech. You could see if in her tears.”
King Charles treatment
During his trip to Australia and Samoa with Camilla, Charles significantly stopped his cancer treatment. According to certain reports, he also showed symptoms of chemotherapy side effects, such as swollen, inflamed lips.
There were rumors earlier this year that Charles and Camilla were at odds over how much work he was still doing. The King resumed a reasonably regular routine after a brief period during which he avoided public appearances and the like in order to concentrate on his medical care.
A friend of the Queen Consort claimed that this was sufficient to make Camilla “deeply unhappy” and that she wanted her husband to put all of his energy on getting better.
“Camilla would have been deeply unhappy that having only begun his holiday on Monday, he broke it off on Tuesday to do an incredibly intense engagement,” the friend in question told the Daily Beast.
“Of course, she understands it was very important, and there is no way she would try to tell Charles what to do, but it seems to be extraordinary timing. She wants him to slow down; she is afraid he is working too hard, and that’s before you even get to the Australia tour.”
