In the video, she appeared in a light pink romper, exuding a blend of anticipation and humor. “I haven’t tried it on since last time. So, let’s see what happens here. Let’s say our prayers. Don’t get negative if it doesn’t work out,” she told her fans.

As she attempted to pull on the skirt, Williams displayed determination and optimism. The video revealed that while she was able to button the skirt, she still couldn’t zip it up completely. Nonetheless, she celebrated the small victory, noting, “We don’t have that big of a problem anymore, but we still got a little bit of a problem.”

With her characteristic wit, Williams asked, “Who in the world is fitting these skirts?” acknowledging the persistent challenge with a smile. Despite the slight setback, she expressed her satisfaction with the progress made so far.
“I might need to check back in another few weeks,” she added. About the skirt, she acknowledged that it was “a little tight, I can’t really breathe. I might have to do one more video.”

However, not all reactions were purely positive. Some netizens speculated about the methods behind her weight loss, suggesting the use of medication. “OZEMPIC!!” quipped one user, while another commented, “Apparently ozempic is amazing.” Echoing this sentiment, another netizen added, “Ozempic really is a miracle.”
This is not the first time she has been determined to fit into this skirt. Her first attempt was in late January. In a video posted on January 29, Williams humorously shared her struggle to wear a floor-length denim piece by the Italian fashion house. Captioning the clip, “The Diary of a Denim skirt (part 1) #valentino,” she revealed her initial challenges with the garment.

“I got this cool Valentino skirt when I was pregnant, and I was like, ‘I’m going to be able to fit this when I don’t have a belly,'” Williams explained as she tried to put her legs into the design. However, reality hit when she realized, “I can’t fit it.” Despite this, she remained undeterred.

“This is my goal,” she told the camera, admitting that she “should have been able to fit it by now, but I got distracted for about a month.” She added with a touch of humor, “I’m about a month behind. … Houston, we’ve got a problem. Palm Beach, we’ve got a problem.”

Her first attempt ended in laughter as the skirt stopped just below her bum. “I feel like if I go to the gym and get fit, I’ll be able to fit it in, like, a month,” she said optimistically. She then decided to put the skirt back in the drawer for the time being.
Refusing to quit, Williams gave it another try in May. On May 22, she posted another video on Instagram with the caption,,”Ok everyone, I have been working my 🍑 off! Let’s see what happens with my jean skirt. Can I fit it yet? Check it out!” In this video, she wore a shape-wear as she attempted to squeeze into the maxi skirt.

“I’ve been gyming a lot, but I don’t know if the needle is moving,” she said while stepping into the rigid garment. “Let’s see if Compton has a problem still.” As Williams struggled to get the skirt over her hips, she admitted, “I can’t say I’m happy about this.”

Despite the frustration, Williams noticed some progress compared to her January attempt. “It’s getting there,” she said with a laugh, noting that she could now pull the skirt a little higher than before. “So, almost there,” she added, highlighting the inch of progress she had made.

Beyond her attempts to fit into the skirt, Williams has been open about her broader postpartum journey. Nearly a year after giving birth to her second child, Adira River Ohanian, she shared her struggles with postpartum insecurities and her weight loss goals.
On June 15, she posted a video of herself undergoing a “tummy” skin tightening procedure as a form of self-care.

“I can see progress with my skin going back to normal and my confidence coming back.” She acknowledged the permanent changes to her body, saying, “My body will never be the same but neither will I cause I have two amazing lights in my life.”
Serena Williams expressed gratitude to her friends for encouraging her to take time for self-care. She appreciated their support in helping her understand it’s okay to take time for herself away from work and kids.
